The collection consists of twelve items, including letters and documents: legal agreement documenting Reuss' granting to Augustus Harris sole rights to perform Wagner's Die Feen, 1892; contract between Reuss and soprano Bella Monti to perform during a tour of the United States and Western Europe, 22 Aug. 1894; written document issued by Gardekorps Generalkommando, 12 Nov. 1894, in German; pass issued to Reuss by Der Chief des Generalstabes der Armee, 28 Aug. 1906, in German, to pass through restricted space. Also, the card of Wanda van der Meere, with a handwritten invitation, in French, 5 April 1885; two letters from Sir Augustus Harris, 8 Sept. 1892 and 30 March 1893, about the staging of Die Feen and other business; three letters from Elmer Roberts, 1906-1907, chatty letters with news of personal activities; from J. Benjamin Stone, 3 July 1906, agreeing to send a requested picture; from Geo. R. Sims, undated, acknowledging Reuss' letter.

Theodor Reuss was an Anglo-German singer, impresario, journalist, and author, whose life is inextricably tied up with his occult activities. Born in Germany, he met Wagner and participated in the first performance of Parsifal; he also performed in England and became a journalist there. His interest in the occult and in secret societies led him to try and revive the Bavarian Illuminati, to join Masonic orders, and to co-found the Ordo Templi Orientis. He wrote or translated several mystical works...
